Using the reverse of the steel advertisement cards of the ancient metalwork shop Serralharia da Baixa (once located in the Beco do Rosendo nº 4), we reproduced a fragment of the human DNA, divided into three columns. Each column is further divided into 4 vertical stripes, each representing the 4 nucleotides constituting the DNA: Guanine, Thymine, Adenine, Cytosine. In the artists’ intention, the representation of the human genome expresses in metaphorical terms the possibility of dialogue and understanding beyond differences.
